Green Tourism Business Scheme Accreditation

The GTBS Green Accreditation award is the leading green tourism certification scheme in the UK and is recognised by UK national and regional government as a crucial part of its drive towards sustainability.

The main aims of GTBS are to:

Encourage businesses to become more sustainable by improving their environmental, economic and social operation.

Give the consumer a clear green choice when choosing tourism services.

Help national and local government meet targets for sustainability

Accreditation:

Provides the evidence that the business has been assessed against a credible standard by an independent organisation in a manner that allows comparison between different sites or services.

Shows that a business meets at least a minimum standard in sustainable development and is maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.

Is a means by which customers can make a positive choice related to the performance of businesses in the tourism industry.
